Fun Club (breakfast and after-school)

The club aims to:

- provide a happy, enjoyable, secure and stimulating environment where parents and carers feel confident leaving their children.

- provide a place where children's play is at the centre of the club. It provides an opportunity for the children to make their own games and play with the freedom of their own imagination.

About Breakfast Club

The Uley School Fun Club Breakfast session is run on school premises and located in the school hall. Staff welcome children from 8.00am each morning Mon-Fri term time only. There will be time for a play or a chat and that last minute homework before a healthy breakfast of cereal, toast, milk or juice and fresh fruit.

The children are encouraged to take a positive role in the club by taking part in the preparation of their own breakfast and clearing away each day. The children are escorted onto the playground by a member of staff to join their class mates and line up when the bell rings at 9.00am. It will be a fun, relaxed time for children before their day in the class begins.

About After School Club

The After School Club is run on school premises and located in the school hall. It is run each day after school from 3.15pm Mon-Fri term time only. The children from class 1 will be collected from their classroom at 3.15pm by club staff and escorted to the hall. The other children will make their way to the hall at 3.15pm. Each class teacher has a list of those children attending the club so they are able to direct them to the club.

The club offers a variety of healthy snacks to the childrn, which they prepare themselves - a sandwich, fruit and a drink. This is just a snack and not intended to replace the main evening meal.

This is a fun time with a range of activities on offer: craft / construction / puzzles / games / books with freedom for the children to create their own play. A quiet area for homework is also available. Special events are offered throughout the year.
