Class 1
Welcome to Class 1! Here you'll find useful information regarding our current topics and the fun we've been having in Class 1. Summer Term 2022 'It's A Bug's Life' This term in Class 1, we are focusing on 'It's A Bug's Life' and learning lots about minibeasts and insects. What makes an insect an insect? Do snails change their shells? What is a chrysalis? We hope to explore lots of these questions as we learn about classification, life-cycles and food chains. We will also be tracking seasonal changes as we move from Spring into Summer; exploring different festivals that happen during this time too! To find out more, please take a look at our class newsletter: Don't forget to have a go at this term's homework web of activities too: Class 1 and 2's Topic Homework Summer '22
On WOW day, the children really enjoyed dressing up as insects or entomolgists for the day! We had lots of fun classifying ourselves through asking lots of questions such as 'do you have wings?'
Class 1 Pets! We also spent some time searching and collecting worms and ants to add to our new wormery and ant world. We hope to watch their movements over the next few weeks as we learn how to care for them, before releasing them safely back into the wild. Next term, we are looking forward to the arrival of some caterpillars too!
